Art Teachers Grades 7 - 12
Explore the power of pattern across cultures, time, and materials. Play with printmaking techniques in a workshop inspired by the upcoming exhibition of Pop prints and Japanese paper stencils (traditionally used for dyeing textiles) from the Museum's collection.
This workshop is tailored to the interests and needs of art teachers. Attendees create two projects (using a variety of materials and techniques) that demonstrate the key components of our open-ended approach to art instruction. Two Museum Senior Teaching Artists show participants how inspiration, demonstration, improvisation, mentoring, informal critique, and thoughtful revision strategies can guide students in the production of their own unique creations.
